Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has approved a minor reshuffle of his cabinet, resulting in the redeployment of Commissioner Faosat Joke Sanni to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion.
The development was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
Under the new arrangement, Sanni replaces Toyin Balogun, who has been relieved of her appointment as commissioner.
Governor Makinde expressed appreciation to Balogun for her services to the state, commending her contributions to governance during her time in office.
He also wished her success in her future endeavours.
Sanni is returning to a ministry she previously headed during Makinde’s first term in office, serving as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion between 2019 and 2023.
Following the governor’s second-term inauguration in 2023, she was reassigned to the Ministry of Special Duties before being moved to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperative in the latest composition of the state executive council.
Her latest redeployment marks a return to the Women Affairs and Social Inclusion Ministry, where she is expected to continue the implementation of the state’s programmes aimed at promoting gender inclusion, social welfare and support for vulnerable groups.
According to the statement, the cabinet reshuffle takes effect immediately.
