A Canadian-based Nigerian physician has issued an urgent medical advisory to singer Portable, recommending an immediate brain scan following his recent defeat in a celebrity boxing match.

Arinze Onwumelu, popularly known as Dr. Zo, expressed grave concern over the intensity of the bout between Portable and skit maker Carter Efe, which took place in Lagos over the weekend.

In a viral social media video, the doctor urged the “Zazuu” crooner to undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to detect potential internal injuries.

Onwumelu noted that Efe delivered multiple heavy blows to sensitive areas of Portable’s head.

He warned that such an impact could lead to a subdural haematoma or damage to vital arteries, potentially resulting in long-term health complications.

“This is an exhibition match meant for entertainment, not a real fight to harm anyone,” Onwumelu said, questioning whether the participants were properly briefed on the match’s intended nature.

He emphasised that anyone close to the singer should facilitate medical testing immediately to rule out serious trauma.

In addition to the medical warning, the physician called on event organisers to implement mandatory headguards for future celebrity matches to prevent significant head trauma.

Before the fight, Portable had expressed confidence in his physical condition, claiming he was medically fit for the ring.

He had previously secured victories in similar celebrity boxing matches against rapper Speed Darlington and actor Charles Okocha.
