Overland Airways has announced plans to resume flight operations on the Lagos-Akure route beginning March 23, in a move aimed at strengthening regional connectivity in Nigeria’s Southwest.
The airline’s Chief Operating Officer, Aderonke Emmanuel-James, disclosed this in Lagos, stating that the service would operate six days a week, from Monday through Saturday.
The schedule is structured to provide convenient morning departures and arrivals for passengers travelling between the two cities.
According to her, flights will depart Lagos at 08:30, while return services from Akure to Lagos are slated for 09:40.
Emmanuel-James described the resumption as a significant step in Overland Airways’ commitment to delivering reliable and efficient air transport services to residents of Ondo State and neighbouring communities.
She noted that the Lagos-Akure route would complement the airline’s existing Abuja-Akure-Abuja operations, thereby enhancing travel options and connectivity for passengers across the region.
“This development reinforces our dedication to providing safe, excellent, and customer-focused air travel services. We are delighted to welcome passengers back on this route and look forward to serving them,” she said.
The airline emphasised that the flight schedule was carefully designed to meet customer needs, assuring travellers of consistent and dependable services.
In addition to the Lagos-Akure service, Overland Airways is also expanding its domestic route network with the reinstatement of flights connecting Lagos and Abuja to other key destinations.
These include Ibadan in Oyo State, Warri in Delta State, Jalingo in Taraba State, and Minna in Niger State.
The airline further indicated that plans are underway to introduce additional routes as part of its broader strategy to deepen connectivity and support economic activities across Nigeria.
