The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has announced plans to commence a statewide grassroots engagement tour on Monday, starting with Oyo Federal Constituency, as part of renewed efforts to consolidate peace, unity and internal cohesion within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Federal Constituency tour, organised by the Olayide Abas-led APC State Executive Committee in collaboration with the Presidential Renewed Hope Ambassadors, is designed to deepen reconciliation among party members and assess the state of the party’s structures at the grassroots level across the state’s 14 federal constituencies.
In a joint statement issued on Thursday by the Oyo APC Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, and the State Secretary of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Afeez Bolaji Repete, the party said the initiative was a direct outcome of stakeholders’ resolutions to reach out to members in all parts of the state and reinforce a sense of inclusion and collective ownership within the party.
According to the statement, the meeting scheduled for Monday at the Oba Adeyemi Sports Arcade, Ode-Aremo, Oyo, will serve as the second in a series of open and interactive stakeholders’ sessions aimed at fostering unity and strengthening internal harmony.
“This Monday meeting will further consolidate our resolve to foster unity and togetherness among all party faithful. We have resolved to leave no stone unturned in achieving our collective goals as a progressive family,” the statement read.
The party leadership stressed that the exercise was strategically important as the APC prepares for the 2027 elections, describing the party as one to beat in future electoral contests.
“All leaders and key stakeholders of the party will converge on Oyo Federal Constituency to preach the gospel of the Renewed Hope Agenda and to re-establish the need to begin the process of reclaiming power in Oyo State in 2027,” the statement added.
The tour is expected to mobilise a broad spectrum of party supporters, including youths, women, students, artisans and professionals, drawn from Afijio, Atiba, Oyo East and Oyo West local government areas. Party leaders, members and supporters from across the state and beyond are also expected to attend.
Beyond reconciliation, the APC said the meeting would provide an opportunity to highlight the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, noting that the president remains committed to repositioning the country and delivering tangible dividends of democracy to Nigerians within his tenure.
The party expressed confidence that it is gaining momentum in Oyo State and reaffirmed its openness to welcoming new members, urging supporters to consolidate recent gains and strengthen the party’s grassroots base.
