The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has formally adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, following an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting held on Friday at the party secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan.

The resolution, which marked a significant political statement ahead of the next electoral cycle, was endorsed by key party figures, including the state chairman, Olayide Abass; former Senate Leader and Ambassador for Renewed Hope, Senator Teslim Folarin; Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu; and Hon. Aderemi Oseni, member representing Ido–Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, among others.

Party leaders hinged their endorsement on what they described as President Tinubu’s impactful sectoral achievements across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, insisting that a second term would enable him to consolidate the administration’s policy agenda.

Reaffirming the party’s direction, Senator Folarin said the Oyo APC is committed to building a more united, cohesive, and effective political structure ahead of the 2027 polls. He stressed that the immediate priority is internal unity, noting that no political strategy can thrive in an atmosphere of division.

“Our foremost responsibility is unity. One APC, One Tinubu Project must be our guiding principle,” Folarin declared.

He further stated that the party aims to surpass its 2023 presidential performance by securing at least a 35 per cent increase in total votes for President Tinubu in 2027. According to him, the Renewed Hope agenda demands coordinated mobilisation across all levels of the party, from the state executive to the grassroots.

Folarin emphasised the need to revitalise party structures in all 33 local governments, 351 wards, and polling units, stating that every community must feel the presence and influence of the APC.

In his remarks, Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, said the party has achieved remarkable progress in reconciling aggrieved members, noting that over 91 per cent of disputes have been resolved. He expressed optimism that a united front positions the APC  in the state to wrest power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2027.

“With this development, the coast is clear for the APC to sweep the polls and show the PDP the exit door in 2027,” Adelabu said.

Echoing similar sentiments, Hon. Aderemi Oseni stated that members have resolved to work collectively toward ensuring President Tinubu’s re-election. He urged party loyalists to intensify mobilisation efforts at the grassroots as the 2027 general election approaches.
